Product Design Process

I've been involved with over 40 product development programs, and while these have ranged from small consumer products to large medical systems they all have shared the same general design approach. This slideshow discusses the highlights of my process.
Belkin

High-Speed Docking Station
2006 / Belkin

Lunar invited me to participate in this program for Belkin, on which I served as program manager. I led our team through the development process described in this case study.
Accuray

CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System
2005 / Accuray

CyberKnife is a non-invasive radiosurgical system for the treatment for cancer. I managed a program at Lunar Design to integrate the various robotic elements of the system both functionally and aesthetically. More information about this remarkable system can be found at the Accuray website.
Sandisk

Biometric USB Flash Drive
2005 / SanDisk

This portable flash drive features a fingerprint scanner to restrict access to its contents. I served as lead engineer on this program at Lunar Design.
Seagate

External Hard Drive
2003 / Seagate

This was Seagate's first standalone consumer product offering, and it brought many engineering challenges due to the unique "wraparound" industrial design. I helmed this program at Lunar Design from the kickoff meeting in Palo Alto through pre-production in Taiwan.
